Every matured and completely written work must undergo these stages of writing before it grew into a finished work.
WRITING STAGES
Pre-writing stage:
this stage involves brainstorming and outlining. When you brainstorm, you stimulate your brain to yield all knowledge that has been accumulated over time from observations, experience, reading, research, discussion, seminars/symposia etc. When you generate ideas during brainstorming, ensure that it you jot them down as they occur to you. Then you set about to outline the ideas, fact, and other information earlier jotted down randomly during brainstorming. Outline is a formal plan of an essay. It is normally numbered in such a logical sequence as would that major points and their supporting ideas are sequentially arranged.
Writing stage.
Here you make a draft in continuous prose of ideas outlined in the prewriting stage. As your draft develops, you may get free insight into the topic, in which case you are required to continue injecting these new ideas and dropping the irrelevant ones.
Rewriting stage
This is the final stage of your writing where you are advised to painstakingly edit your draft with a view to improving your skill. Read your draft quite slowly and watch out for the meaning of each sentence, clause or phrase. It is here that you are opportune to check all grammatical mistakes, faulty parallism, annoying shifts, and faulty subject verb association or matching. It is equally of importance that you work to eliminate mechanical inaccuracies such as spelling mistakes, inaccurate use of the punctuation marks, etc. Then you can rewrite your essay and confidently present it to the most critical of readers.
